Wtta · Netherlands · in force 1 January 2027

Ready for the Wtta: every worker's identity on record.

From 1 January 2027, only admitted labour providers may supply workers in the Netherlands. The admission standards require you to establish each worker's identity with a genuine ID document, check it for identity fraud and prove the right to work. WeVerify does these checks in minutes and gives you evidence for the inspection.

Who it applies to

Anyone who supplies workers for payment, and anyone who hires them.

Temporary employment agencies, payroll companies, secondment firms and other businesses that supply workers for payment need admission, with limited exemptions. Hirers may only work with admitted providers and must record which provider supplied which worker.

For labour providers

What the admission standards ask, and how WeVerify helps.

Establish identity with a genuine document

WeVerify reads the chip in the passport or ID card by NFC. The chip's digital signature shows the document is genuine and unaltered.

Check for identity fraud

A biometric liveness check matches the person to the photo on the chip, so the worker must be the holder of the document.

Prove the right to work

The right to work check confirms nationality, residence permit and work authorisation, and tracks expiry dates per worker.

Show it at the inspection

Every check produces a sealed evidence record for the personnel file. Keep the document copies the standards require alongside it.

For hirers

Your obligations as a hirer.

Work only with admitted providers

Check each provider in the public register, open from 1 July 2027. Verify the company and who may sign for it with WeVerify business verification.

Record who supplied whom

Keep a record of which provider supplied each worker. Sign the agreement digitally with verified identity, so you can show how it was concluded.

FAQ

Questions about the Wtta and WeVerify.

Does WeVerify make us Wtta compliant?+
No tool can. Admission is granted after an inspection against the standards. WeVerify covers the identity and right to work checks in those standards and gives you evidence for the inspection. The other requirements, such as the certificate of conduct (VOG) and the €100,000 guarantee, stay with you.
Do workers need an app?+
Yes. The identity check reads the chip in the passport or ID card by NFC in the free WeVerify Identity Wallet app for iOS and Android. It takes a few minutes.
Which documents work?+
Biometric passports and NFC-enabled ID cards from 190 countries. The right to work check covers nationality, residence permits and work authorisation.
What does it cost?+
€1.00 per identity check and €1.50 per right to work check, before volume discounts. Every new account starts with €100 free credit, no card required.
